Day 5 (Part 2): Zip Line Canopy Tour

This afternoon was an adventure through the canopy of the rain forest.  We traveled via 11 differentzip lines  through the trees and across streams for a breathtaking view of the Arenal rainforest.  Despite some fears along the way, the kids all did great!  They encouraged one another and celebrated the arrival of each student and chaperone at each of the 12 platforms.  At the last cable, we each had a chance to test our sense of adventure by hanging upside town.... What a thrilling ride!

Tonight is our last night in La Fortuna.  Tomorrow we head to Monteverde, the cloud forest, where we will tour a sugar cane plantation, see where coffee and chocolate are grown, take a night hike, and explore the topography of that region via suspended bridges and more zip lining.  Everyone is having a great time and learning a lot.  I am very proud of their efforts to use Spanish whenever the opportunity arises (even Cate and Wesley who study French!).  Que bueno!
