France

Bonjour,

It's been amazingly busy since we last wrote.  On Friday, we walked down to the Old Town of Nice again, this time to take part in a treasure hunt that introduced us to the history and culture of this ancient place.  Mme le Duc had created a booklet in French AND English that helped us as we searched for clues throughout a several block area.  After that we had a lunch of typical foods of Nice including a taste of "socca - a flat bread speciality of Nice".  The students spent an eventful weekend with their families and we all got together for a party at the home of one of the student families on Sunday evening.

Monday we were off again for a day to explore Eze, Monacco, and Monte Carlo, and on Tuesday we went to Grasse, the perfume capital of the world.  In Grasse, we all created our own, registered perfume at a "Studio des Fragrances".  What fun that was for all!

Wednesday was spent with the students all participating in French classes for the final time.  That evening we all gathered on the Cours Saleya for a festive dinner.

Today it is on to Paris via the TGV.  We should arrive there by 6 this evening and are looking forward to another exciting weekend.
